What is spiritual direction?
Spiritual direction can be simply summed up in the phrase “holy listening.” The director meets with the directee to listen and act as a companion along their spiritual journey. Commonly, people seek spiritual direction for help discerning their spiritual path, identifying their unique calling in the world, or even to reconnect with their own soul. Spiritual direction is not about a specific or defined religion or religious path - instead it honors the individual journey of the seeker as they find their own way.
Who is Ashley Johnson, Spiritual Director?
Ashley Johnson received spiritual direction training from The Haden Institute, a group centered in the Jungian Christian mystical tradition. Ashley chooses not to publically define her spirituality in a word, but looks to teachers in the mystical communities, Celtic spirituality, Jungian writers, poets, naturalists, herbalists, and oh, of course, the trees themselves, to feed her soul. She commonly works with folks in the Christian, post-vangelical, athiest, agnostic, spiritual, energy-worker, and mystical communities, although she is open to working with people from all faith (or lack-of-faith) practices.
Ashley’s work with directees frequently takes a natural and artistic focus, encouraging creative and embodied practice as a way to listen to the unconscious and the spirit within. Sessions with her might include conversation, dream work, visual or written art, meditation, or other collaborative rituals. Ashley offers virtual sessions only at this time, available by Zoom to those in all countries, but hopes to soon also offer in person appointments on her land in rural Northern Ontario, where she plans to build a labyrinth in the coming year.

Ashley works on a sliding scale from $50-$125 USD - each directee is welcome to assign the value within that range that makes sense for them.
